Artist Statement

I am Dhanashree Gadiyar, a painter of everything colorful, especially nature. Born and raised in India, my art is characterized by the use of bold, bright colors and intricate patterns, which is influenced by the traditional Indian art forms that I grew up with.

In addition to my love of art, I am also an avid traveler. I enjoy exploring new places, cultures and experiences which often serve as inspiration for my work. You can find me with a sketchbook in hand or snapping photographs to use as reference for my next piece. My paintings are a way of capturing favorite memories from my travels or day to day life on paper or canvas. I love brightening people’s spaces and day with my work.

After completing my MFA in Fine Arts in City College of New York and a few years of gaining some experience in the art world in New York City, I moved back to India, where I currently reside with my family and continue to practice painting.
